Grand Lodge 7th March 2017

It was a cold, windy day when I set out yet again for the March meeting of Mark Grand Lodge at Gt. Queen Street. I arrived in London after travelling down on the train together with a large contingent of Cheshire and East Lancashire Mark men.
After putting my bag and coat I wandered over to the Pillars where after a couple of drinks the majority of the West Lancashire contingent of the usual suspects arrived.
Grand Lodge was opened in due form at 2pm with all the domestic Business being conducted. The Pro Grand Master made an announcement that he was standing down at the June Meeting. Grand Lodge was then called off and we received a talk from Dr John Conibear Consultant Oncologist at St. Barts Hospital with regards the use of the Saturn Linear Accelerator that was supplied on a grant from MGL in 2011 which was very enlightening and was received with rapturous acclamation by the brethren.
Dinner or was that afternoon tea was attended by some 24 West Lancashire Mark men and was of excellent quality, and the wine flowed freely, and I spotted the PGM RW Bro Keith doing his David Bailey impression which he stated were for the West Lancs web pages. I then proceeded to take a couple more pictures.
After dinner were repaired once again to the Pillars before leaving for Euston or overnight accommodation and travel back home.
All in all, it was yet another excellent day out and a superb experience, one which I recommend to all the Mark men to experience.
Personally, I look forward to the June Investiture meeting. Come on brethren let us make it a Grand Day Out!
